The cattle and all of the older calves that are left on the farm are brought inside now.
We feed silage to the sheep, and as the winter progresses we feed ewe rolls to help with the growth of the unborn lambs.
In January we scan our ewes so we know how many lambs we can expect in March and April, then we can feed the ewes accordingly.
We also calve some cows at this time. Occasionally we have had a calf born on Christmas day!
The winter is always difficult in many ways but we are now looking forward to spring.
