Access statement for howe farm bed & breakfast

Introduction

We aim to cater for the needs of all our visitors in our farm based 2 bedroom bed& breakfast the following statement is a summary of our provision please feel free to call us at any time if you have any questions.

Pre arrival

We are ¼ mile outside the village of Hawkshead and 5 miles from the town of Ambleside .The main train station is in Windermere aprox.7 miles away. Buses and taxis run in these areas. Arrival & car parking

There is ample free parking outside the house with signage clearly marked visitors parking. Assistance with luggage is always offered to guests The entrance is accessed across the driveway which is well lit at night and has no gradients.

Main Entrance

There is a small step in to the house from the porch once in the house the hall leads off to the lounge and dining room. There is a guest book in the hall for you to sign. Guests are shown to the rooms and all facilities are explained.

Public areas , general internal

All areas are fully carpeted on the ground floor there are 5 stairs then a small landing then a further 5 stairs to the 1st floor.

Dining room and lounge

Breakfast and evening meals are served in the dining room the lounge has comfy sofas and tv. The breakfast and dinner menus are varied and serving times are flexible.

Laundry

A ironing service is available on request.

Bedrooms

Both bedrooms are on the 1st floor both having locks on the inside of the doors, latter barrow is a double bedded room

With oak floorboards and a large Chinese rug a bathrobe is in the room for your use to your private shower room across the landing. There is good access to both sides of the bed.

Esthwaite is a double bedded room with the addition of a single bed, with oak floorboards and sheepskin rugs a bathrobe is in the room for your use to your private bathroom across the landing. There is good access to both sides of the double bed and access on one side of the single.

Bathrooms

Latterbarrow is a shower room with a large shower that has a step up in to it.loo and basin have good access and toiletries are apparent. Full fitted carpet.

Esthwaite has a full size bath with electric shower over, loo and basin with good access. Toiletries are apparent and fully fitted carpet.

We are a full working farm with all the sights and sounds that brings a warm welcome awaits all our guests.
